The anime convention with an ice rink
By Anime Messe Babelsberg, together with Filmpark Babelsberg
Vendors, artist alley, event stage, cosplay, voice actors, Bring & Buy and street food, plus an indoor ice rink right in the middle of the event. Your first anime con of the new year: friendly, cosy and deliberately affordable.
Day tickets for the anime convention. The ice rink is an optional extra with its own, limited day pass.
In Japan, the year begins with Hatsumōde, the first shrine visit. You head out with family and friends and start the new year together. Anime on Ice picks up on this idea in our own way: instead of a shrine, you make your first anime convention visit of the year.
After the winter break, the community gets together again for a relaxed meet-up at the turn of the year. Browse the vendors and the artist alley, drop by our event stage and grab some street food. If you like, take a few laps on the indoor ice rink in between, cosplay very welcome.
Anime on Ice is deliberately more compact and more affordable than Anime Messe Babelsberg in summer. We want to create a place where lots of friends can meet up and share their passion, which is why ticket prices are something you won’t have to think twice about. It’s the very first edition and maybe the start of something really special. We’d love for you to be part of it from day one! 💙
Good to know: Anime on Ice is an anime convention with an ice rink. On the ice, you skate yourself; the ice rink day pass is an extra to your event ticket. To round off Friday and Saturday, we’re also trying to put on a small but special Cosplay on Ice show. It’s not confirmed yet, though.
The whole event takes place at Metropolis Halle Potsdam. A joint project by Anime Messe Babelsberg and Filmpark Babelsberg.
A meeting point for the whole community, made with lots of love. Here’s what’s already confirmed:
Browse vendors offering everything around anime, manga and Japan, and discover art and fan art by artists from the community in the artist alley.
A programme by the community, for the community, right up close:
Our AnimeRadio.de team provides Japanese music on the ice and hosts live. Skating with con vibes, cosplay very welcome. All ice rink info
Japanese and Asian street food awaits you on the forecourt, festively lit by lanterns. Perfect for warming up in between.
The community’s second-hand market: sell your treasures or find pre-loved manga, merch and figures. An auction is also planned for Saturday.
Arrive comfortably in your winter coat and change on site: there are cosplay changing rooms and a cloakroom (fee applies).
Right in the middle of the event, an indoor ice rink is waiting for you. Skate your laps to Japanese music and live hosting by AnimeRadio.de, on your own, with friends or in cosplay.
The ice rink is not included in the convention ticket. You need an ice rink day pass in addition to your event ticket.
Day passes are strictly limited: a maximum of 200 people are allowed on the ice at the same time. Best get yours in advance.
Only valid together with an event ticket. Available in limited numbers in advance on AnimeTickets.de and, depending on capacity, spontaneously on site.
Deposit for rental skates: ID card, driving licence or €30. Skates and skating aids subject to availability.
Our tip: From experience, the ice is less busy on Friday and in the early hours at the weekend.
Want to skate in cosplay? Absolutely! On the ice, though, safety comes first, for you and everyone else. These cosplays and accessories don’t belong on the ice:
If in doubt, the ice rink staff decide. You’ll find all other rules in our cosplay rules.
