House rules

So that Anime on Ice is a great event for everyone.

During Anime on Ice, we ask you to observe and always follow the notices and rules below. Generally speaking, Anime on Ice is a peaceful family event. We welcome everyone who wants to explore the values of Japan and the colourful world of anime, manga and cosplay with us. The volunteers of Anime Kultur e.V. are looking forward to your visit.

Rules

  • Bringing your own glass bottles is not allowed! PET bottles are allowed.
  • Eating and drinking is not allowed on the ice. Please also observe signposted food bans in individual rooms.
  • The consumption and handling of alcohol, drugs, cannabis, glass bottles and potentially dangerous objects is prohibited on the entire premises. Persons under the influence of intoxicants or showing corresponding symptoms must leave the premises.
  • Bringing animals is prohibited (even though animals are usually allowed in the Filmpark), with the exception of guide dogs or service animals.
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the buildings. Fire brigade call-outs will be charged to the person responsible.
  • All kinds of damage must be avoided, especially fire, water and vandalism damage.
  • Thefts will always be reported to the police and result in exclusion from the event.
  • Unauthorised alterations to buildings and technical equipment are prohibited.
  • Distributing flyers and advertising as well as selling goods is only permitted with the approval of the responsible organiser.
  • Lost and found items can be handed in and collected at the cloakroom during opening hours.
  • We value considerate, respectful and careful behaviour.
  • Instructions from crew members must be followed.
  • Escape and rescue routes must be kept clear.
  • Please make sure your mobile phone is on silent during programme items.
  • Please do not post recordings online unless you are sure you have the consent of the person filmed. The same applies to the Anime on Ice programme.
  • Cosplays must not be too revealing, i.e. chest, intimate areas and buttocks must be adequately covered. Our cosplay and weapon rules always apply. Cosplay weapons must be checked by our weapon check.
  • Children aged 12 and over may attend Anime on Ice on their own. The duty of supervision remains with their parents or guardians.
  • Please take care of your belongings! Unfortunately, we cannot accept any liability for theft or loss.

Ice rink

  • The ice rink is operated by Filmpark Babelsberg GmbH. The rules and instructions of the ice rink staff also apply on the ice.
  • The ice may only be entered with a valid ice rink day pass, which is booked in addition to the event ticket.
  • A maximum of 200 people are allowed on the ice at the same time. If the rink is full, new skaters can only enter once others leave the ice, so please expect some waiting time.
  • Every two hours, the ice is cleared completely for half an hour of ice maintenance.
  • Rental skates and skating aids must be returned after skating.
  • Cosplay on ice, safety first: long skirts, trains and capes, pointed or sharp-edged studs and attachments, masks that severely restrict your view as well as cosplay weapons and props are not allowed on the ice. More in the cosplay rules.

Photo and video recording

All cosplayers and private individuals at the event may take photos and videos and upload them to cosplay platforms, as long as the recordings are of a private nature and taken by hobby photographers or filmmakers. However, please observe the general legal regulations. Always ask for permission before recording someone! A general ban on photography and filming applies if the host announces it before a programme item.

Anime on Ice is a public event at which photos and videos are taken, including by our event photographers. It is therefore possible that visitors may be captured incidentally in the background of photos and videos. By entering the event premises, visitors acknowledge this. If you do not wish to appear in recordings, please speak to the photographers or our organising team.

In case of emergency

If you get injured, don’t panic: our first aid team will take care of you as quickly as possible. If you have any kind of problem, please contact our crew or the Metropolis Halle staff immediately. You can recognise our helpers by their crew clothing.

Note! In case of doubt, the instructions of the Anime on Ice staff and Filmpark Babelsberg GmbH staff must be followed.
